I just discovered I have a mantis shrimp in my tank. The down fall is I just got all my rock stuck together and not wanting to break everything down (& stress everything) to catch this sucker. Will a piece of krill shrimp and panty hose work or is there something better?

Thanks for any help & advice in advance....

You can make a trap out of a plastic bottle. Google DIY mantis shrimp trap.

Dr. Fosters and Smith sells a Mantis Shrimp trap. Works great. Just put in on the bottom of the tank, add bait into it and wait. Normally the Mantis will go for the bait at night when all the lights are off

I had 5 in my tank at one point. What I discovered is that once a trapping method works on one, it won't work for the others. I had to use different techniques for every one. The last one just stayed in there till the tank was broken down.
Smart little buggers!

Your everything. Fish, snails, hermits. Almost nothing is safe from those things. They're basically apex predators in a reef tank.

Thanks for all the advice...but, believe it or not nothing has worked. I guess its because of the live rock it lives in. The rock must have a great tunnel system for I see it poke its head out of the different holes without coming out. I have to omit it is entertaining to watch.
