Cycloseris explanulata I think, but it could also be Pavona explanulata.

These are incredible
But...
I count 13 acropora and 2 montipora...
Should we not have more variety for an SPS contest?
I just got into macro photography and SPS but the few other SPS I have are phenomenal too under a macro

I guess I could’ve gone with something like this instead

Or even the little frag of it, since it’s quite cute

Or possibly one of these of my skittles bomb cyphastrea

But I do feel that the one I submitted, is one of the best photos I’ve taken so far and stand behind it as the one I entered. And at least it wasn’t an acro

For me, I always vote for what I consider the best photo. This IS a photography forum after all. I could care less what the subject is. Yes a beautiful coral is always appreciated, but I will vote for a great photo of a crappy coral over a crappy photo of a great coral every time.

It really does take away from the whole concept if people vote based on the subject rather than the quality of the photo... just my 2 cents.
