The subject for Mar 2025 POTM contest was Macro of an SPS frag.
It is now Time to choose the winner!

The poll allows multiple choices so choose the ones you like from the numbered entries below. The voting thread will close on Apr 20th at 11:59 pm EST.

Winner will be determined by this R2R Member voting by poll. In order to be eligible to have votes counted in the poll, voting members must have at least 25 meaningful posts and have been a member of R2R for at least 1 month by the time the poll ends (votes that do not meet this criteria may show in the poll but will be disregarded in the final count). In case of a tie, Team R2R will assist in picking a winner. Rules, deadlines and terms are subject to change at staff discretion at anytime.

I can just see you and the other mods just staring at all the pictures, just thinking, "Hmm, this one looks good, oh, but this one looks good too," and it just being a never-ending debate of trying to pick the 15 you need.

I just got into macro photography and SPS but the few other SPS I have are phenomenal too under a macro

I mean I understand as I have 20 acroporas which is more then any other coral by a mile but:

I agree, but the best subject usually wins, not always the best photo. Acros are considered the pinnacle of reefing by many, so that may be why. Personally, I just took a pic of my favorite coral. I don’t really care if it wins or loses though.

It gets to nit-picking and then Some more :)
Well to be fair many things to score pictures against like
Subject
Focus
Lighting
Sharpness
Artistic side
Exposure (overall and highlights, shadows slight overexposed areas...)
Noise
Distractions ....
It becomes second nature to look at a picture and go through all that to do a couple first runs and then a more dedicated run of scoring to remove the few last ones to narrow it down to 15 which is the most difficult part.
We have been seing a marked improvement in submissions quality and number every month which is always welcome.
