So I work at marble and granite shop making counter top etc. My question is has anyone ever made a custume stand out of marble? I have the material and the "know how" but maybe not the creativity to come up with a design. Theres almost nothing impossible with me and stone. Maybe even a marble hood? Please feel free to give me ideas when I get a good one ill make something and post pictures.

Wow that's really pretty that's actualy Onix on the walls and granite on the top and bottom. Onix is very expensive but its transparent enough to let light shine threw it. Very impresive. It's that yours?

lol, just found it online... nice looking but not my cup of tea...lol

Yeah I love marble so I'm trying to think really hard about a stand made out of it. If I had to do wood id be curious If I could make one look nice out of pallet wood. Almost make it look "rustic" I believe is the term.

I actually like the stands with larger tops. I would love to do a sitting area breakfast bar or whatever with my tank on it. Nice marble or something. Maybe 2 foot wide tank on a piece of marble that hangs over another foot.

Wow I could see that! Maybe a half or 3/4 wrap around. Maybe with a 20" overhang. Some very neat ideas!

Yah I wanna do a 2 sided overhang . With a peninsula tank. Living room kitchen. Have to remodel the kitchen but it's in my brain and will happen with a custom star fire tank.

That would be beautiful. The only problem is I only have a 20gal lol. So a peninsula tank might look a little funny, but I do love the idea of a larger over hang :)

I would do a wood stand (or a steel stand skinned with wood) with a deep pretty wood, maybe like walnut or mohogany or cherry, with a thick marble top. the marble top would be cut out in the center to allow the tank to recess into it and hide the sandbed and tank trim. the marble top would have at least a foot of extra marble on at least one side to allow for eating at with a bar stool.

Wow I never thought of it being recessed! That would give a really cool effect. Maybe even LED lighting under the oberhang?
