Thanks Rev! Meant to post the Burning Banana from JF as well. It's a new favorite.

Thank you for the feedback! I would be happy to share my thoughts on the LifeReef CaRx.

I have been using this unit for about 6 years now between to different tanks, both with great results. Both times I used a Rio 800 as a push pump utilizing a pinch valve on the exit end to control the speed of the effluent.

The first time I used it I had a traditional regulator which made it a little more difficult the dial in the bubble count. For this tank I acquired a CarbonDoser Regulator which makes it really simple. I still check alkalinity almost every day but do not make very many adjustments to the unit between CO2 tank changes.

Recently I saw a dip in my Magnesium so added TLF ReMag to the reactor to boost it. Below are my most recent water test results. I do not dose anything else to the tank outside of AcroPower aminos. From my experience the reactor has been able to maintain all the necessary elements without supplementation.

@watdachuck
Thanks a lot for your time and explanation. I am on budget plan to get one from Mr.Jeff. Already having his skimmer and I love it.
Can you please add some photos of the feed pump set up with pinch valve
and also share your thoughts on ease of removing the pH sensor for calibration. I heard that to calibrate the pH sensor the reactor has to be drained out. Is it true?

First the reactor does not need to be emptied to change the pH probe out. When the quick connects to the intake and out flow are disconnected a vacuum is created. At that time you can remove the probe without fear of water gushing out everywhere.

Below are photos of the quick connects that come with the reactor. They make it very easy to remove the unit if and when you need to.

Thanks for your detailed reply. It means the feed and circulation pump has to be switched off and then have to remove the quick connect for pH probe calibration. Am i right?

Thinking these Monti's are sucking up all the Mg in the tank. I had added ReMag to my calcium reactor but probably need to add more. I sent out water samples to Aquarium Water Testing to confirm my theory, but also started dosing small amounts of BrightWell Magnesion and have noticed better polyp extension in the other acros. Test to confirm!
