My friend Angelo’s insane Chicago Anemone that won’t split… (those Nasos are full size) I’m guessing it’s about 18-20” diameter (you could fit a golfball in its mouth easily)

Anyone else seen a bubble tip this big that hasn’t split?

Biggest I've gotten a bubble tip was dinner plate sized. That thing is awesome.

A clone line I have only splits every couple years. Splits are always asymetrical with one sibling roughly 2/3 - 3/4 the size of the parent and the other significantly smaller (roughly 1/2 - 2/3 in the case of triplets).

This first picture the view is roughly 3' from left to right so it's oral disc is in the range of 15" - 18". Clowns have been with in the tank since 2004 as well as the brown BTA (brown clone line goes back to a wild purchased in 1998). The Rose was added about 12 years ago.

Here it is in the same tank shortly after a split, tank is 4' wide 90 gallon.

Mine got to be about 14-16" before it split the first time. Hard to say exactly because it would wrap around a rock on one end. A water change triggered the split, otherwise I'm not sure it ever would have done so. It took a long time to split the first time.

But it's in a 29g, which is 30 inches long. And I'm sure it covered half the tank at times. Still, the one in your image looks noticeably bigger.

Yeah I size them by comparable pizza size…
I’d say it’s a solid NY full pie!

Wow that thing is huge. Do you target feed or high par?

Niether, PAR for the lower Rose is about 30. At teh surface I'm guessing a bit as it's been awhile but I think it's only arround 100. The system only gets Spectrum pellets in an autofeeder.

To add a bit of mystery to this discussion here's clones from previous spits in a different system that never get larger than about 4-5 inches across the oral disc and split once or twice a year. (I like to call the one a Doubble Bubble :D )

Yeah that one looks a little bigger!

It's interesting clones I've moved to other tanks never get close to the size this one gets too. This system has lower light levels so that seems to be variable along with spectrum but I'm certain there's other factors involved.
