Math help

So I have a math test tomorrow I'm studying right now I can't seem to find x for this equation

I narrowed it down to:
-x^2 -4x +1 = 0
or
-x^2 -4x = -1 factored is -x(x+4) = -1 but that doesn't give me any clues either
I can't seem to find x naturally, did I get the wrong result or do I have to use the quadratic formula?

Ugh, I hate when questions make me do that, I always feel like somethings off because most questions end in simple numbers, whenever I get a string of decimals I get nervous lol.

However--looking at your original problem--I get:
x^2 + 4x +3 = 0, which results in x1 = -1 and x2 = -3
Suspect you made an error when multiplying thru by (x-1)
Does that make you feel better?

X is either -3 or -1

my iq is either -1 or -3, how did I mess up that multiplication LOL

LOL you couldn't imagine how many times I thought exactly that every time I saw a cool new zoa for sale on some american website... some people seem to have gotten stuff over though because the aquaculture scene here has started circulating some real nice frags.
