This tank was born just after my daughter lili. It was my way of simplifying after budget shifted a bit. I had it made to a specific size. It happened to be the display footprint of a 5.5 gal. The tank is 4 months old.

Equipment
300gph return
Mp10
RKL -sl1 w/ ph probe and ATO.
CC Par 38 20k full spectrum

Filtration
Chemipure
Filterfloss
Purigen
Waterchanges w/ reef crystals

Additives
Fuel
Reef chili
Spectrum pellets

With all that listed... Its a simple tank. I could never own another tank with out an ATO.

I love the cc par bulb. It has great spread and has been a perfect alternative to my old DIY setup.

Ill put together a livestock list shortly.

Day 1 - never had a cycle. I used cured lr.

And then there is today...

This is amazing. How do you keep the water clean with all those additives? What are the dimensions of the display? Do you think that full spectrum bulb would be too bright for a picotope 3 gal?

Yeah it would be too much for a 3 gal. I do allot of waterchanges. I change filter floss very often. The key to these nano/Pico tanks is a regular routine and keeping your hands out. I pretty much never move things around unless I have too.

I looked up the bulb and it says that they are dimmable LED's so perhaps it is possible, you have such great color and the Par 30 bulb I have is too blue for my taste (2 years old) it makes me want to pick up a full spectrum. But their par 30 bulbs look great and are more affordable.

The dimmer is pretty cheap. I mean its crappy. Your also dimming based on how bright you feel it maybe be.

Here's a few more pics. The tank has been running well. I have over ten sps frags doing very well. After my semi automatic water changes I test out at 9dhk 400 cal and 1300 mag. I use reef crystals. I don't typically test for po4 or no2. I've never had a reading with my crappy api test kit. I use a red sea kit otherwise for the others.

Ive removed the skimmer. It was too loud and with one fish I don't need it. I do 5 gallons change over a weeks span. Its BB and the micro bubbles were outrageous.

The lighting was a bit too narrow for my liking so I changed from 90 to 120 optics. these par bulbs are so nice. I just wish it could be integrated with a dimmer that uses increments that were presise and separate channels for blues only. lol. I'm dreaming.

The plan is for this tank to run for atleast a year. My goal is to cover every last inch with color. I cut out the gsp in the center of the tank to allow my sps to mat out. It already killed a green digi. :( tough stuff tho. Little bits have survived.
