Merry Christmas everyone from Duluth Minnesota :-) where I've learned it's not so easy to crack your window to help adjust your pH levels! My wife and I are but a Mini Carpet Anemone 4 days ago and about 12 hours after we brought it home it's shriveled up and shrunk and hasn't been extended since. It's turned a little bit lighter in color but still glows fluorescent under the blue light. There's not much movement at all even though it's about 6in from one of my small underwater fans. All of my water parameters are pretty much spot-on for a reef tank and I have 2 phlizon 165w lights for my 55 gal. Is this normal or should I be concerned? I appreciate all of your wisdom and insight as I have been reading through much of this forum and have learned a lot since starting my saltwater aquarium :-)

I agree, let it settle in. It will move to where it's comfy.

You made a comment about adjusting your pH levels...did you have company for the holidays? Whenever I have more than 4 people in my living OR if I do a lot of cooking with my gas range my pH drops. Sometimes stuff gets angry. It all bounces back.

Wow that's really an interesting thought! Thanks for sharing your experience :-) we've had people in and out of our house for the last couple weeks checking out our aquarium now that we've started adding more fish and coral. We also have a smaller house and do have a gas top stove which we use pretty much daily.

So also just one more quick question to stay on the safe side is how do you tell if your Mini Carpet Anemone is dying? What are some signs that you should watch for?

Turns completly white and shrivels to almost nothing but unless it was on its way out or your tank has something really bad going on you won’t see that in 4 days
