I have two maxijet 1200 pumps that quit pumping water. They are noisy and the impeller is turning with the shroud off. There is barely any water being discharged. I have cleaned and visually inspected the pump. Anyone?

OK it'll sounds dumb. But I spit in the rubber bushings as well as on the impeller shaft. Bearings need grease IMO(and yes, there's reef safe lubes too). My observation on them as they get older is the plastic housings seem to stop fitting correctly and constrict the movement. I usually ,after spitting(and cursing), wind up fiddling with cover to make it go.

Def check the rubber bushing like stated here.

Now this is unfortunate but the Marineland version of the maxi jets aren't very reliable. I would recommend the cobalt versions by far.
