Hi guys, it is hard explain what is going on but I will try my best. So my maxima clam new grown scutes seems really close to the old scutes which normally should be longer apart.

Like this photo showed. Do anybody know why? Is it some sort of element deficiency?

looks like it was growing well and stopped, and then started growing again, they usually stop growing when stressed, (parameter swing, changing tanks, constantly being bothered) but it seems that it is still growing so at this moment it is happy, i wouldn't worry about it too much.

Yeah it did get stress from epoxy I used that nearly killed it. Manage to save it from massive water change. Thanks.

probably bc the earth's core switch rotation recently. No, but seriously, if it's actively growing don't worry about it. Looks like good growth

How did the epoxy nearly kill it? Also, if it's happy and growing, putting on new shell growth, then don't get caught up in the minutia in the scute size, etc... The growth rate isn't a constant with any animal, just as long as there's new growth, don't fret.

Also the bigger the clam the more shell material it needs to grow the same length between each scute
