What is the purpose of clams? I know they look cool but why put them in your tank. I am in no way bashing the, I want one, but just uneducated on them. Are they for looks, do they filter, etc...

What special needs do they need? High lighting, low flow, do you need to feed them?
When can you add one? 3 mos, 5 mos, 1yr

Specifically Maxima Clams.....or are they all the same.

Thanks. Please educate me or help me find a link.

Because they are pretty. Also I think it's a way in this hobby to prove that you can keep most anything alive, being that they are hard to take care of. Most of all they are just cool to look at..

I do love clams! If you get one, definitely post a picture for us. :-)

Try and get them larger than 3" smaller clams tend to have a much higher mortality rate. (At least that's been my experience)
