will too little light cause mantle retraction ?
Normally too little light cause the clam to hyperextended to try to collect more light. How much mantel extension is partially depends on the clam. Some clam normally extended a lot while other of the same species extend less. I am not sure the cause of this so I think it is “genetic”. Sorta similar to some of us have more hair than other.

That’s an interesting fact. I never noticed that some extend more

Hello everyone. I have found my problem and it has made me even sadder. I’m going to have to choose between keeping clams and keeping my Copperband. It seems he has started to nip the clam I’ve had for months
