According to the BRS videos I have been watching lately...

The brighter/more PAR/more power an LED light has/uses - the more the likelihood of getting the "uglies" during, or right after, cycling...

So anyone have any input on what the maximum PAR would be before having to worry about the "uglies"...?

Under 75...?

Thanks!

While I can't throw a number on the PAR level, almost all newly setup tanks will have some uglies stage. It can even happen in tanks that have been running for years. Some tanks its very minor, other worst. I just look at it as part of the process. As far as lighting, I just wouldn't use more power then whatever is in the tank needs until the tank becomes better biologically ready.
