Megabite's 180 Reef - Round 2

Hard to tell between the white light and blue light.

Looks like a Beach Bum except the polyps. Polyps are right for Crazy T but the growth edge might be wrong.

After letting the color set in more in my tank, it definitely looks more and more like a beach bum Monty. I’m so excited to have this thing grow out, I just hope I can keep it alive!

Tank turned 10 yesterday! 10 months that is. Happy belated monthday to me. 😜

Easily one of the best looking tanks I've seen at the ten month mark, even if you did start it up in the other tank for a several months. Nice work, Orly!

Are those Candy Canes on the right side? Did you add those semi-recently? I do not recall seeing them but, then again, that doesn't mean much.

Thanks Chris.

No, I’ve had them from the beginning and was attached to the rock. Had a little mishap vacuuming Dinos and knocked them off. Got it as a 2 head frag.

Looks great and nice picture. They are pretty hardy so you should be able to see this one grow out nicely.

Looking great, Orly!

Am I seeing things or are the dinos gone?
Thanks Chris. No, they are still there but diminished some. Looks like it's trending in the right direction with reduced population. Fingers crossed.

Here are some fish pics from this morning. You can see the brown spots in the substrate. It's usually a bit worse in the afternoon after peak lighting.

Tried a FTS with whiter spectrum but the reflections are killing it.

Tank looking great!
Thanks TCG. Designing and printing stuff is a blast for me. Here's what it looks like in Fusion.

What lens did you use for these pics? Your pictures are always so crisp with nothing blury.

Thanks man.

A good lens is just part of it. Shutter speed, aperture, iso, and of course focus are what you need to play with when taking photos. You need to find a balance with them relative to what you’re shooting. As an example, taking fish pics usually requires faster shutter speeds than you need for corals to freeze their movements.

Distance to glass also plays a role in sharpness. The closer you are to the glass the more perpendicular you need to be to prevent distortion. Glass distorts photos at an angle. As you step back, you can get away with more and more angle to glass. That said, the more perpendicular, the sharper the image.

The lens I used for these pics is the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens. Great lens with fast focus which helps, but without the proper settings for the shot and some post processing, it’s just an expensive piece of glass.

Man am I digging the specs on these light. If I had a job, I’d pick up three to try on my tank.

I'm not crazy about the fans but these are looking very nice. No doubt that GHL makes nice equipment. Not such a nice price though.

Did you see that Quanta is coming out with a new panel light? Luca is projecting a late-November release.

No, I haven't seen that. Is there any real info like specs available yet? Didn't see anything on their site.

Is Luca Joy's significant other ?

He hasn't released any specs yet as it's still being developed. If you look them up, on IG, Luca put up a few videos over the last week and a half.

I have no idea who Luca's significant other is.
