I hope all my fellow hobbiests have a great and safe holiday. I've been in the hobby since my divorce 5 years ago. It has been an interesting ride from starting with a smaller tank with numerous water emergencies from a HOB skimmer, to upgrading to 58 gallon tank with sump, to a 120. Then after purchasing a house, moving and setting up a dedicated fish room. Then the disasters of the 120 getting broken (fortunately while still empty), to losing power to the fish room during last winter (bubble corals do not do well with very low temps...neither do softies), to making a newbie mistake by connecting my float valve to my RO unit where the float valve failed and the salinity dropped drastically.

So here is to a new year. I'm hoping to get another large tank and finding a way to re-stock it. With the last several mistakes I've made the past 6 months I've thought about just quitting, but I like the hobby too much. I feel fairly stupid though, I got through the first several years in the hobby without making hardly any stupid mistakes, then this past 6 months I feel like I've made up for it.

I really enjoy this site so far; I've been looking around and reading and thought it was about time to share a little.
