I purchased two nitrate refill kits from two different online marine supply store and both of them have a metal ball inside reagent B. Is this normal? It’s my first time using this test kit.

Thanks.

Probably to help mix the ingredients before using. Have you tried asking the manufacturer?

Thats going to be my next step. I emailed bulk reef which is where I purchased it and they never said if it was normal, just sent me a new refill.

Which by the way had a metal ball inside reagent b. So I’m thinking maybe it’s for what you said, to mix better.

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
