( MH ) how many fixtures do i need for a 36 18 24 ?

hi i want to know if i can just put one fixture of metal halide and my 36 inch 4 bulb fixture in my aquarium heres the deals i found in craiglist



my tank is 36x18x24 tomorrow m going to start working in a canopy to house my lights

Personally I would go with 2 250W metal halides over the tank especially if you plan to grow SPS.

actually only want grown of my soft corals,, one metal halide dont cover all tank ?

Yeah then one should be fine for soft coral.

You would just need the light hight enough to cover the tank. Most people would recommend an LED for such an application since you are only growing soft coral.

If you are doing all soft coral then 250 is all you need. But, if you think you will start keeping other coral down the road you might as well get the 400 now
