I've seen these sold a lot of places as "Spiderman Micromussa" and finally found one at the LFS. I am pretty sure I've seen these called micros, lords, and even echinatas on different forums, and was just curious if it is a Micromussa and how do I tell them apart from lords. Thanks in advance.

Looks like a micro amak to me, too. They are very similar to lords, but lords are bigger is the best explanation I've gotten. They used to be classified as the same thing, I believe. That's and excellent pick up:).

the size of the polyp can usually tell you. Now I have seen small Lords and big Micros...but you would be able to tell them apart if they were sitting next to each other.

That is a nice piece....A LFS here had a piece just like that that the wholesaler sent as a filler in their order. they were kinda PO'ed about it cause they had to charge $200 for the whole thing cause of how much they had been charged. Plus they didn't even order it.....I would have bought it but didn't have the $$$.....You tank is looking great too...

FYI, if they only had to charge $200 for a piece that size then they got a deal, with what wholesalers are charging ;)

I agree with Vamp that is wholesale. They go even past $200 a piece wholesale and that before freight and boxing charges. I would jump all over that.

who are you talking to Tyree? If you are talking to me I am talking about the store that I work at and do all the intake and paperwork for.

your wholesaler is expensive then, I only am aware of 2 wholesalers that are getting them in regularly and they charge 200 for pieces that size and sometimes a little larger no matter what the color is-granted they are all micros from tonga.

they may be expensive, not sure as they are the only ones that the store is purchasing micro's from. They don't have them all the time but we try to get them when they do.

I don't do the purchasing though because I wouldn't buy them at that price. They then frag them and then push the price up to make more money. They have been some pretty good looking pieces.

i agree there have been some nice ones comming in from tonga-I dont think the high price on tongan micros will last though, they really arent that uncommon, just uncommonly collected. And with the growth rates you can get out of them, they will be everywhere within a year.

yup Tyree, that is the way it goes. When Acans first hit the market people were paying thousands of dollars now they are more resonably prices. It happens that way with everything. Eventually they will be more reasonably priced. I can wait :)
