Hello everyone!
My midas blenny is in QT and a few days ago I noticed he had a bite on his tail.
His QT mates all seem to get along exceptionally well, we feed them a lot to make sure there is no food aggression and have watched them extensively. His tank mates are a juvenile naso tang, long nose hawkfish and a Melanarus wrasse.

So yeah, he had a bite out of his tail but seems to be fine, eating well, breathing is fine eats like a pig but today I noticed that along the edge of his fin where the bite was has turned black. probably less than a half in in length.
He moves too fast so I couldn't get a picture but he seems to be totally fine in every other way.
Is there something i should do or just leave it?

i cant think

Without pics, really can't say, but black margins where an injury was is often a sign of healing.

That said, whoever took that bite (melanurus?) may do it again......

Oh wow - the big issue here is how thin the blenny is. See how it’s belly is sunken and it’s spine is showing? We see this a LOT in Midas blennies but don’t know the cause. Once they get to this point they have digested their liver for energy and that damage cannot be repaired.
The cause of this may be internal parasites, food not being fed often enough, or some digestive issue unique to this species ….. sorry!

It looks like something internal to me, The black looks like an infection instead of a healing area. I agree with jay in how skinny the blenny is. I don’t think you can come back from that.

We’ve had him for a bit over a week.
the LFS said that he came in pretty thin but was eating well and I feed them literally like 5 times a day and he’s never left out.
that’s super sad and disappointing

Just keep chucking the food to it, multiple times a day, as much as it will take. I'm not very optimistic, I've seen this so many times now......
