Mini brittle stars question

Has anyone ever had every single brittle come out into the open, cover corals, and start releasing stuff from their body? I have about 300 of them in balls all over the glass, smothering corals and releasing stuff into the tank. Now the tank is getting cloudy. I have been reefing long time, and have never seen this. I quick threw on a skimmer, and thinking about running carbon as well. Maybe a water change. To hard to get a decent picture, but weird. Coral and fish seem ok atm, but I do not think this could be good. Thanks for your input.

Well, I think it was a big spawn event. Almost all have returned to their homes and tank is starting to clear up.
