Has anyone else experienced schedule glitches with the Mobius app? This morning I awoke to find all (3) of my Radion G5s off - when they should've been on and following the schedule I implemented (and have been using for months). Rebooting my iPhone, Mobius and even the lights did absolutely nothing. Everything was working fine just over 8 hours ago. Re-configuring the Radions with a saved template didn't work, either - all the lights were using settings from the previous interval, ie: @8am the Radions were using the @7am schedule instead of @8am.

Fortunately I had the configuration backed up and I was able to restore it from that, and I think things are back to normal. Under troubleshooting I found that the lights all had clock errors (12/8/13, respectively) - which is apparently normal unless it increases (I'll keep watching and check back later today). This is the first time in a year of using the Radions and Mobius that I've seen something like this happen.

I had this happen once. The fix was to re-sync the clock. It's an option in the Mobius app.
Thanks, I just re-sync’d the clock. It was out by 5 minutes, but I’m not sure this was the issue (the schedule was showing the correct time but running the light setting from the previous interval).

Further to my update yesterday, EcoTech got back to me and suggested I run verify settings under troubleshooting. Sure enough, each light had an exclamation point (indicating a problem), so it gave me a “resolve” option which seemed to fix everything.

The clock was again off today (-00:01:00), which I hope doesn’t become a recurring theme.

Seems like a pretty simple programming fix, no? My clock is off every time I check it.
It's not a programming issue, it's a hardware issue. They don't have proper real time clocks in them.

Which is not even close to acceptable in $1000 lights. $79 Chinese black boxes keep time fine.

Is anyone still having this issue? A couple of times a month the clock is off in the Mobius app and I wake up to find all my lights on. I go into the app and there is an alert saying the time is wrong, and I click the notification to fix it.

I don't understand why the clock keeps getting out of sync. Isn't there a way just to set the clock and leave it fixed? It's not like it's drifting by a little bit.... the time is instantly way off and the year will be reset back to the earliest possible year in the app.

Any insight on how to prevent this from happening?

Glitches? Mobius SUCKS. The only time I can monitor my mp40 is when I am at home on my wifi. What a joke. They need to get their act together. I will never purchase any piece of equipment that uses that app.

Happens to me regularly. About every 1-2 months I need to re-sync the time in the app because I'll notice my xr15 is off. When I open the app it'll have the date sometime way in the future like the year 2038 or something. My guess is it's using UNIX timestamps, and there is a bug where a function is trying to get the time and it's just returning an error value of -1 (or 0xffffffff in hex), which on a 32-bit system will convert to a MAX_INT timestamp of Jan 19th, 2038 (0xffffffff = 2,147,483,647 seconds since Jan 1st, 1970).

That actually makes sense. My first guess was that it happened anytime the app was automatically updated on my phone and I had it running in the bg and that the devices were connecting while it was backgrounded. However, I've been purposely closing the app so it's not running and the devices still randomly go off. This can happen multiple times in a week or once every couple of weeks, but it happens a lot. It just started for me this year after owning the gear for years so I assumed it was app related but now I'm not so sure.

I wonder if a properly working MXM would remove this issue? I have an MXM that never worked. It would disconnect after a couple of minutes and the gear would loose their settings so I gave up on it. Willing to give it another go if Apex controls the time when they're connected.

This is still an ongoing issue for many with no real fix and the Mobius support team hasn't been able to provide a root cause for the problem, either they don't know or don't care. I don't know if it is a problem with their hardware or software but in any case it is totally unacceptable. If they are still under warranty you can get them replaced but even brand new devices straight from the factory have the same problem.

Mobius and Ecotech products are not WiFi based. They never have been. They use Bluetooth so of course you have to be home and close to them to monitor it. Not sure why an MP40 needs monitoring. Set it and forget it.

But, yes Mobius does suck with no fix in sight

I have been told you can put the Radions on timers and have them turn off every night and then turn back on 30-60 minutes before your schedule. This should keep them from coming on randomly at night.

I never tried it and didn’t even consider Radions on my new build because of the Mobius issues.

Gotcha- I thought it was wifi capable so that is my mistake. I do have trouble even at home though.

Once in a while I would have issues getting everything to connect at once but the clock issue was rampant.

My G5s upgraded to G6s had far more problems than the G6s themselves.

You know it’s a known issue when there is a literally a menu section titled Clock Issues or whatever it is called. It will tell you how many times the clock has gone out of sync

Lights and pumps are good but the app has glitches and always did. My time on some tanks keep going to a different time and some lights just lose connection. Not just me or you but many and many don’t like to admit it. I know big coral sellers that are sick of glitches and ecotech and are replacing ecotech with other brands. Take it what it’s worth. Ecotech gets it to work but it’s for how long before it glitches. I always used apex to control my pumps and lights and it worked flawless with wxm. Wonder if the mxm would correct the problem in möbius app

LOL good point. It really is shocking that this is even an issue.
