I've been meaning to ask about this for awhile. I got a small piece of this last summer and its been growing downwards ever since. Always seemed healthy otherwise. Grows fast as you would imagine. Other plating motnis and branching acros have encrusted are growing normally.

The full tank shot is a bit old but you can see, with my lighting setup, its actually in an area that isn't receiving as much light as other areas. I was under the impression that TOO MUCH light could cause this...?

Another thought: perhaps flow? I have two MP40s. One is on the right/backside of the tank in long-pulse mode (ever 2 min, 50%) while the other is near the center return line in reef crest mode (30%)) blowing towards the front of the tank. Bare in mind, that second MP40 was moved much closer to that return, several months ago.
