I have 2 Montipora caps that, to me, look like they are bleaching. I have had these 2 frags since Oct. 9th and they haven't grown much at all. They are both about 1 1/2 inches. Tell me what you think.

They have PE so not unhappy. Do you know if your alk is pretty stable or do you have spikes?

Every time I check it, it's been at 9.5 ish so I can't say it changes much. I test at varying times so I am unsure

Anything white and fuzzy looking crawling underneath the cap? Besides that, the nutrients in the tank are a bit low for that level of alkalinity. You can up the fish population and feed a bit more, let alk drop to the 7-8dkh range or dose po4 to detectable numbers. 0.02-0.08

I feed once a day pellets/nori one day, frozen brine the next. I have 6 fish, 5 PJ Cardinals and one 5-6" Mimic Tang.

PO4 is up around .01 right now and nitrates are between 5-10. I have not dosed this tank or added any other supplements and the numbers are not decreasing. I change 20% water every 3-4 weeks with Reef Crystals

I pulled the caps today and looked them over and have been using a flash light at night to look for any critters and have found nothing. There was some, what I think was bryopsis, growing on the sides but I added Fluconozole 2 weeks ago and it is gone.

The only thing I see around them is the occasional hermit crab

Not related to your montis but where did you get the fluconozole? I somehow got bryopsis on on some zoas and have to eliminate it before I transfer everything over to my new tank. I hear the stuff is prescription only?

Don't zero your phosphates. I agree with keeping up bioload and keep your nitrates at least around 5ppm and phos around .03 - also if you're going to keep your nutrients that low, aim to keep your alk on the low end as well.
