I believe i have both versions. I did get the lighter one from tidal gardens. I'm in the SF bay area California if your close and want some.
Yeah, I had purchased some from Tidal Gardens and it was exactly as expected but my system crashed on a power outage while out of the country a few weeks ago and it doesn't look like Tidal Gardens carries it anymore. Had 2 years of growth on it, nearly 5 year old system. It looks like other vendors it's more of a brown base purplish polyp. Unfortunately I'm in Atlanta so it'd be tough to swing by and pick it up. It's such a nice piece but rare as far as these things go. Definitely grows slow compared to the newer stuff like forest fire.

Actually found a picture of when i got it from September 2023. We must have bought it around the same time. Yeah slower growing than other montipora but its probably around 8 inches tall in the current picture. Ive never shipped coral before but if you cant find it anywhere else maybe we could figure something out. Sorry to hear about your crash

@X-37B Where did you get that German Blue? Tidal Gardens is the only place I can find that looks like the correct old school German Blue lie what you have there. Everywhere else looks more purple.
Yes Tidal Gardens is where I got it.
These are a much lighter blue than the old German Blue I have had in the past which can look purple under some lights.

found it. made it way to hard to find. Why not just list the dang thing under monti. I'm to old and grumpy even at 39 to sift through all these "special sales" Thank you very much for the heads up.
I should have gave you the heads up it was listed under the R2R sale from Saturday on their website. I actually grabbed one myself Sat. I think he only listed the two. That discount code works on all listings

My Flower Petal and Starburst Montis. Unfortunately this is a few months ago. Now the polyps have lost their contrasting colors. I'm not sure what it is that caused this (it's not light because I have one piece up high getting 350 PAR and it's the same as the lower piece).

Anyone ever have this happen and overcome it? Some have mentioned Mg and in fact mine was low. I've brought mine up so time will tell. Stunning pieces when they're on par!

If your magnesium was low it might be time to check your potassium.

What are your parameters?
Standard 3 at 8.2-8.5 Alk, 420 Ca and (now) about 1350 Mg. I need to start dosing Mg regulalrly. I have been bad about it letting it fall than jumping it back up. Just got a ICP, several traces are low - working with Captiv8 right now (waiting for the first shipment) to boost it up, test, dose, re-test and hopefully get a dialed in dosing soultion.

Strontium, Flourine and Zinc were all "critically low", and few others "below normal".
