I have a mixed reef. Im having issues with my montis. Mainly plating as I do not have any branching types. Im getting blotchy color on them, kinda grayish. You can see it mainly on my OG Green with blue polyps. Seasons greetings is not showing as bad or my jedi mind trick. I had this issue about 2 months ago and I attributed it to low mag as my mag was around 1150. When I adjusted the mag and I used some purit along with 2 large water changes I feel the montis made a full recovery. Now about 2 months later they seem to be doing it again but my mag is testing out at 1600 via salifert.

Salinity is at 35ppt
Calc 425
Alk 8.5
N03 is around 25 and p04 is around .18 (both of which I know are slightly high).

Im kind of at my witts as montis are supposed to be relatively hardy. It has to be something stupid im overlooking.

I have chalices, lps, and even other acros like millies, lokanis, etc that seem to be doing good.

Could it be nudibranchs? If it's only affecting montis, that's the first thing that comes to my mind.

I’m having trouble with montipora to. I can keep acropora , but montipora hate me . I have looked for MEN several times and nothing. I’m thinking maybe asternia stars are eating them ?? . This past weekend I siphoned out at least 500 of them . We’ll see soon .
