Is something wrong with my moorish idol? Just noticed some white bumps on the black of the fish. It eats like a horse and is generally lively. What should I do?

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

Can you post a picture under whiter light? The blue tint always makes it difficult to see details.
How long have you had this fish?

From what I can see, your idol is a bit thin and it has marine ich.

Agree with Jay on both observations.
Is fish eating ? If so, what are you feeding it?

I'm feeding it only frozen, mostly mysis and it eats a lot. I've only had it for 2 weeks.
It may have been thin when you got it.

You’ll need to confirm if it has ich or not, posting a white photo/video will help. That disease can be fatal pretty quickly.

Yes, that confirms you have ich in that tank and that with fish loss, it has gone beyond the probability of just managing it, you’ll need to treat it. That’s going to be tough - any invertebrates present will rule out hyposalinity or copper treatments. Some people can move their inverts to another tank, other people need to move the fish to a treatment tank - each situation is different.

That diet will be inadequate for a moorish idol. They are omnivorous and they eat marine algae, worms, clams and other mollusks and sponge. Some foods to add are LRS herbivore diet, small plankton, hikari clam on the half shell and chopped scallops
