Ok so I might buy a 100 gal established tank tomorrow but I’m not sure how to move the live stock. There are 2 clowns an anemone live rock and a few other fish. I have 2 brute trash cans I can put live rock into and I was thinking about taking as much water from the tank as I can in them. How should I move fish/ anemones? The tank has sand s can I reuse it? And if I do have to add water it will be ok to use fresh saltwater I mixed is that ok? When I get home should I just put the tank back together and add fish and anemone? Thanks for the help

How old is the sand? As a rule anything over a year you probably want to dump and get new sand. Otherwise yes, move as much of the original water as you can. Have plenty of fresh saltwater as needed to finish filling tank. Put livestock either in with live rock or separate container. After you are done setting up tank, drip acclimate your fish to the new water. I did this about 4 months ago with out any losses. Will be doing it again in a week or two when we get new flooring in the living room and again when we sell the house (reason for new flooring).
