Ok, finished the other side and installed a shelf. My new sump is gonna be a 29 instead of my current 20l. The fuge is a 30l which is 16" tall roughly. The display will drain into the fuge directly. In order to drain the fuge into the sump I have to raise it because the 29 is 19" tall. Which is why the shelf. ;-) so the fuge will sit up on the shelf and underneath will be a 10" storage space. all that's left now is to cover the 2x4's with strips of the same plywood as the sides. :)

The two by four construction was easy. It is this finishing stuff that is not so easy. LOL

Now that's the way to build a stand!
Jake will remember these things forever, time is the best thing we have to give, ten times better than anything you could buy. Keep it up, they grow up so fast you won't know what happened.

The tank is on the stand. 30 gallons of fresh salt water to my parameters. Extra on side just in case. One bag of live sand. Piping is as in place as it can be until the fuge and sump are in place. I will be using the brand new @ATB USA nano one skimmer that I won in a contest on r2r. :-D (sure they are more than ready for a review! Sorry)
Going to my personal favorite lfs (jays aquatics in salem nh) tomorrow to get styros and bags. move is set for friday 6am! Ouch. But need enough time. Wish me luck. Please ;-)

I brought home a cup of the water that I mixed in the new tank and put a couple of asternia, a bristle worm, an amphipod and a snail in it last night. All are well. So I assume I am good to go. Man I am getting so nervous as the morning approaches. LOL

So it's not going so well. I started at 4 a.m. And ended at 2:40 because I had to get ready and go to work until 8. I could cry right now. But I had no choice but to leave things the way they were. All of my fish are in a very muckey tank with only two koralia's running. Most of my rock is in the new tank with the fish and the muck. All of my expensive corals are in the refugium in bags. Trying to keep them at temp but there is no pumps and no filters running. Some of the corals that
were attached to the rocks are in the tank as well. But nothing is set up or running yet. I really hope everything is okay when I get back in about 4 more hours. I also had to cut one of my two by four support a bit to accommodate the refugium drain which I did not plan well enough for apparently. :-(. And lastly when I got back to the apartment to get showered for work I find that my springeri dottyback has escaped capture and is still in the old tank in about 5 inches of water Also cloudy.

Ps. I hope my admitting my mistakes helps someone. Because it would be so nice to just skip right over that part. LOL

Did you move sand from the old tank, is that why it's so dirty?

Yup. I wanted all my bacteria and macrofauna. There was a lot of good stuff in there. But it was dirtier than i thought. :-( its ok though. Ive made it that bad before while changing rockwork. nothin seemed to suffer.
