Water needs to be in sealed containers! I have moved quite a few tanks & livestock and one of my early moves i thought i could leave a little water in the tank. I still cant believe how much water movement happens in a tank while driving. I use water jugs of various sizes filled with very warm water to help maintain the temp in the livestock containers. Smaller containers can be in a cooler, and you can preheat the cooler with warm water or jugs of warm water. Dont start with a cold cooler.
This is gold

SAND! BE CAREFUL OF THE SAND! My tank crashed but only some coral and some cc were lost, I emptied out the tank with a little bit a water left to try and catch the only fish i had and transport, i was kicking up sand and at the time i didnt know a sand bed could be toxic if stirred. he survived the crash but didnt survive my rescue
Yes good point i am onto the pitfalls of stirred up sand beds. I have a fairly shallow sand bed and i try to keep areas disturbed periodically to remove gas pockets or trapped detritus. the nassarius snails however do a great job.

Speaking of the sand. You could rinse some in water from the tank. Have some mixed at new location to replace about 20 gallons. After removing all livestock stir the sand up in the tank. Syphon the filthy water down the drain and there you have cleaner sand bed. Great opportunity and should not add more than the time it takes to stir up the sand. Use a dust pan to help remove sand.

Check out brandon429 thread on rip cleaning sandbeds. I dont personally know if its accurate or reliable information but it makes sense to me. Also thought i should say out loud rock should be transported submerged. Not everyone knows this so i dont want to assume you do.
