Quick question-

Has anyone effectively used a MP40 with nem guard in a Reefer 170 or 200xl? From what has been discussed previously, it seems that the MP-40 alone would be way too powerful (doing LPS / softie tank). If a nem guard were to be used, would it reduce flow enough so that the powerhead could be utilized?

I came across a great deal for a gently used MP-40 and was curious about applicability in smaller tanks. Thanks!

@newbie reefer01 you can totally use a MP40 with a nem guard in your tank. The new guard diffuses the flow so it is effectively weakened. Keep in mind the MP40 is variable, so you can always dial your intensity up / down. When you pick up the used MP40 see if it comes with the spacers which are used to manage the different glass thicknesses of different tanks
