That sucks but glad that worked for you. One of the reasons reefers pay premium for this is to look good but now we have come to this. I was thinking using Teflon tape wrap around the “teeth” that meet up with the bottom base grooves.I’ve had the same issue and a new o-ring did not fix the problem. I experimented for a while and ended up using elastics made for braces, attaching them to the tabs on the cage that slide into the groove on the wet side. One elastic seemed to work best, using too many may make it impossible for the tab to go under the groove. The friction keeps the cage in place. Here’s a picture.
I haven’t tried that. Please let me k ow if that works. That sucks but glad that worked for you. One of the reasons reefers pay premium for this is to look good but now we have come to this. I was thinking using Teflon tape wrap around the “teeth” that meet up with the bottom base grooves.
It didn’t work with Teflon tape. I was thinking adding a tiny tap of crazy glue on each teeth of the cage.I haven’t tried that. Please let me k ow if that works.

In my long relationship with aquariums this is rather mild. It’s sad that we have to deal with this
Tried but seems it’s not snug if you know what I mean. The rubber seal is still there and not seems dried up or cracked.i've had this problem w/ more than 1 of my pumps. all i had to do was tighen down the cage more while it was dry.
I'm having a hard time picturing how you did this. i.e. how did you loop the rubber band around the cage? You didn't cut it in order to slide the rubber band onto it, did you? Do you have pics of how it looks with the cage off?I’ve had the same issue and a new o-ring did not fix the problem.
