I just purchased 2x MP40 powerheads and they work great but every now and then they will start wobbling off the back of the tank on the dry side. I use the recommended spacer for my tank thickness (1/2"). Will a reduction in the spacer prevent this from reoccurring? Thx

Do you keep a mag float or other type of magnetic glass cleaner close to the powerhead. This has caused the whole dry side of my mp40 to detach itself.... magnetic pole interference or reversal or something like that... anyways i keep my magfloat parked well away from my mp40.

This is really ironic but I am having the same issue with my 2 new MP 40qd I purchased a couple months ago. I've tried numourous things to get them in alignment but they keep wobbling and falling off, then eventually after numourous attempts to get it alighned it will work for about a 3 days to a week and eventually fall off. I used the correct spacer for 12mm glass, I had the non QD so I'm very familiar with this product and never had this issue. I don't have any snails small enough to fit threw the gaps on the side, and I use the sponge filters as well and I've literally watched one just wobble off. I was about to send an inquiry to Echo Tech in regards to the issue. If any one has any ideas, to fix or resolve the issue please let me know.

I had the same issue of the dryside falling off on 5/8 acrylic. I was using the qd wet side with the regular dry side......it had seemed to me that the magnets on the qd just weren't as strong as the original. They say this is not so.....

Hello All,

If you all haven't already, I highly recommend you contact EcoTech Marine Customer Support about these issues. They have a stellar team who can quickly get your issues resolved and get you back to looking at your tank rather than messing with equipment issues! ;)

There is a direct link to the Customer Service in my signature. And, as usual, please share the resolution back here so that others with the same issues can read.

Thanks!

Randy
