Hello fellow Reefers,

Since there are so many 2-part products on the market and sometimes we often like to try, test, or change from one product to the next I wanted to post a thread that can be referenced later that include products like Red Sea, AquaForest, Tropic Marin, ESV B-Ionic, Triton, BRS, DIY’s etc. I feel it will be very beneficial for those who are new to dosing or for the reefer that wants to change from one product to another. Having these numbers on one thread will make life much easier, but I can’t do it alone. Eventually I’d like to compile the information and create a very detailed chart.

So here’s a few that I have so far and if there’s any corrections that need to be made please let me know or post up. Also, if you know the Alkalinity, Calcium, or Magnesium strength of your particular 2-part, please list it here. I'll list the Alkalinity in meq/L and dKH.

BRS 2-part 1,900 meq/L (5,300 dKH)
``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Randy's DIY 2-Part recipe's:
Randy's DIY 2-part recipe #1 ALK 1,900 meq/L (5,300 dKH)
Randy's DIY 2-part recipe #1 Calcium 37,000 ppm
Randy's DIY 2-part recipe #1 Magnesium 47,000 ppm
Randy's DIY 2-Part recipe #2 ALK 950 meq/L (2,660 dKH)
Randy's DIY 2-Part recipe #2 Calcium 18,500 ppm
Randy's DIY 2-Part recipe #2 Magnesium 47,000 ppm
``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
ESV B-ionic 2-part:

ESV B-ionic Alkalinity 2,800 meq/Liter (7,840 dKH)
ESV B-Ionic Calcium 62,752 mg/L.
ESV B-Ionic Magnesium 36,000 ppm
```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Tropic Marin ALL-FOR-REEF- 500mL contains 1,000meq/L (2,800 dKH)
Tropic Marin Carbo-Calcium- 1,000mL contains 2,000meq/L (5,600 dKH)
````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Triton Core7:

Number 1 = Magnesium + Traces
Number 2 = Calcium + Traces
Number 3A = Alkalinity + Traces
Number 3B = Alkalinity + Traces

Reefahholic said:
So both bottles have equal Alk? 9,750 per bottle?
Julian@Triton said:
Correct. Components 3a and 3b both contain equal Alk (9,750 dKH per bottle).
9,750 dKH or 3,482meq/L (3A)
9,750 dKH or 3,482meq/L (3B)

He said Triton Core7 still remains the most concentrated inorganic Alkalinity solution sold as a professional product on the market. Yes, all bottles can be diluted with "ultrapure RO/DI" water, but just make sure to dilute all bottles equally. Also, if you add bottles 3A & 3B together make sure to double the dose. If you were dosing 10mL of all components, your combined dose for 3A and 3B would now become 20mL.

This is all I have for now. Please feel free to add to this list.
:)

Aquaforest Component 1+ 2+ 3+

Typical aquarium with average number of hard corals requires approximately 25ml of each component per 100 l (27 US gal) of water daily.

Component 1+ contains: Ca, Sr, Ba, Co, Mn, Cu, Fe, Zn, Ni, Cr. (Component 1+ contains 18000 ppm Ca. 25 ml dissolved in 100 l/27 US gal raises Ca by 4,5 ppm).

Component 2+ contains: NaHCO3, F, I. (Component 2+ contains 2500 dkh/l. 25 ml dissolved in 100 l/27 US gal raises KH by 0,65 dKH (Alk: 0,23 meq/l)).

Component 3+ contains: Mg, Reef Mineral Salt, K and B. (Component 3+ contains 3300 ppm Mg. 25 ml dissolved in 100 l/27 US gal raises Mg by 0,38 ppm).

Thank you @Reefahholic for taking your time to post these helpful charts . I am sure that it’s going to help out the community and new reefers alike

I’ll get the chart up later, but for now it’s a good place to see everything at one time and compare across the board. It’s nice to know if you switch 2-parts where you can start your dose on the next product.

Interesting percentages:

Aquaforest: 2500 dKH/L
Randy’s DIY 2-part recipe #2: 2660 dKH/L
BRS: 5300 dKH/L
Randy’s DIY 2-part recipe #1: 5300 dKH/L
Tropic Marin ALL-FOR-REEF: 5600 dKH/L
Tropic Marin Carbo Calcium: 5600 dKH/L
ESV B-Ionic: 7840 dKH/L
Triton Core7: 9750 dKH/L
Red Sea: (Haven’t calculated yet)

BRS 2-part is 112% stronger than Aquaforest.

Tropic Marin Carbo-Calcium is 5.66% stronger than BRS.

ESV B-Ionic is 47.92% stronger than BRS

ESV B-Ionic is 40% stronger than Tropic Marin Carbo-Calcium.

Triton Core7 is 24.36% stronger than ESV.

Triton Core7 is 290% stronger than Aquaforest.

Please PM me if my math is incorrect or some of the above information is wrong. Most of it I pulled from the website itself.

Also, if anybody knows Red Sea’s dKH per Liter please PM me or list below. :)

I was actually looking to see if I should switch from ESV to BRS 2 part, and with the work you put in by getting these numbers, I am just going to stick to ESV. Thanks @Reefahholic for the work you put in to create this data.

I’d like to eventually get every 2-part brand on this list. I’m trying to find the dKH per liter as that’s how most list the product strength. It takes some work and I’m not the best at math so please let me know if I’ve calculated anything incorrectly and we’ll get it corrected.

Reef Pro Complete from their website:

part b alkalinity-1 Milliliter of Reef Pro Complete Part B will raise the alkalinity by 30PPM= 1.7 DKH (0.6meq/l) per 1 US Gallon

part a Calcium- 1 Milliliter of Reef Pro Complete Part A will raise the calcium by 12ppm per 1 US Gallon

You will need to convert this into your standard format for a comparison chart.

ESV to this day have been the best most stable for me. I’ve tried about everything. Triton is too strong for young tanks under 100/G IMO. Aquaforest is a safer option for younger tanks or tanks that have less water volume IMO.
