what up reef addicts since we got all these mushrooms threads . what are the different mushrooms and what is the difference between a Florida and yuma mushroom? some times I have a hard time telling which is which . pics ?
Other then the fact one comes from the carribean (florida) and one from the pacific(yuma), there are numerous differences between, but mostly appearance and colorations. Ricordea Floridas have a uniform appearance of "bubbles" on their oral disk with no bubbles on their mouth, whereas Ricordia Yumas have no regular appearance of "bubbles" on their oral disk and they will also have bubbles on their mouths. The typical colors of Ricordea Florida are Green, Blue, Orange, and sometimes a mixture of all of the the colors mentioned. Ricordia Yuma's can come in all the colors of the rainbow and then some. Yumas are higher priced usually per polyp, more desirable by appearance in most cases, and no where near as hardy as their caribbean cousins.
