This is my 40 breeder display tank. It has been up and running since September 2009. Some of the livestock was transferred over from my old Biocube 14.
For equipment, it is a sumpless system. I have a standard 40 breeder, with the back wall painted black. I have 2 Vortech MP20's, on opposite sides of the tank. I run them on lagoon mode at about 60% each. As the corals grow in, I will probably have to turn them up a bit. I have a Warner Marine H2 HOB skimmer that runs 24/7. I have a CPR HOB refugium that has lots of chaetomorpha and tons of little critters inside. I also have a TLF Phosban 150 reactor running GFO. I run a bag of carbon passively in the fuge. For lighting I have a 6x39 watt t5 set-up with ATI bulbs. I am currently running 4 ATI Blue Plus and 2 ATI Aquablue Special. In the future, I may add some blue LED supplementation.
For livestock I have 4 fish.
Onyx percula clownfish
McCosker's flasher wrasse (male)
Blue mandarin (male)
Yellow-eye Kole tang
It is a true mixed reef, with a splattering of zoas, lps, sps, and a crocea clam. For maintenance, I do 5 gallon water changes every 7-10 days. I also dose TB aquatics 2 part. I keep Ca. at 430, Alk. at 9dkh, and Mg. around 1400. My nitrates have always been 0 in this tank. I am currently using Reef Crystals salt mix.
I took a video this morning, using a iPod nano, so it isn't the best quality but I was surprised at how well it came out.
