My 50 gal. budget build

The Setup:

  • Used 50 gal. plexi tank and stand. Was already used as a closed loop setup with holes predrilled for drain and return.
    • Added a 700 GPH aquarium overflow box-surface skimmer
  • Used sump tank for $60 on Facebook marketplace
    • Two 4" ring slots for a 14" and 8" long filter socks
    • Will replace the 8" sock with a filter media cup filled with coral rubble and disposable filter floss
  • Bubble Magus BM-Curve 5 Protein Skimmer - (New)
  • Currently running Jebao DCP - 5000 Sine Wave return pump - originally started with a Sicce Syncra SDC 6.0 Controllable DC pump that died after less than a months use. Took almost a month to get a replacement from Sicce. Jebao DCP - 5000 Sine Wave return pump bought from Amazon was emergency buy to keep tank running. Still going strong!
  • 300 watt submersible steel heater
  • Current USA Orbit Marine LED Aquarium Light w/ LOOP Wireless Control with Timer (no longer using) - replaced 6/9/21 with 2 used AI Prime HD puck lights
  • Current USA eFlux Accessory Wave Pump, 660 GPH | Ultra Quiet, Compact Size
  • Current USA eFlux Accessory Wave Pump, 1,050 GPH | Ultra Quiet, Compact Size,
  • Current USA 1685 eFlux Wave Pump Manifold HUB
  • ReefBreeders - Auto top off
Livestock:

  • 5 Asteria snails, 10 nassarius snails, 2 turbo snails, and 4 trochus snails
  • 2 cleaner shrimp and 1 Peppermint shrimp
  • 1 Royal Gamma
  • 1 Tailspot Blenny
  • 2 Clownfish - 1 Extreme Snowflake and 1 Extreme Picaso
  • 4 Gobies - 2 Firefish, a Court Jester (aka. Rainford's Goby) and a Mandarin
Coral:

  • Various Zoas
  • 5 Non - high end torches
  • Neon Toadstool
  • 3 Acans
  • Blue/green Nephthea
  • Neon green Nephthea
  • Neon green Neptia
  • Various Mushrooms
  • 2 SPS coral names unknown
