Man. Your BTA picked a great spot. Mine is behind my rocks. I actually removed a few just to be able to see it. My maroon clown paired with it right away though so that was cool.
Yeah I got lucky. There is actually a whole and cut Out in the rock and that where it’s foot is. No luck with my clowns. I’ll give it another few months.

Welcome to the 32 cube club. It’s a long road ahead but it’s fun. a diverse clean up crew will be important. I thing I have over 45 now mainly various snails that are listed above.

are you planning on making any modifications To the tank.

I was doing so good the first 3+ months and then I got Cyno in month 4.

An update since it has been 10 days since my last update:

Tested water a week ago (5.9.2022), only thing thing that changed was:
PH rose to from 8.2 to 8.3
ALK dropped from 8.3 to 7.7
Salinity rose from 33 to 34

Planning on retesting later this afternoon to see what impact, if any, the water change had this weekend.

Did an approximate 25% water change on Saturday 5/14/2022, first one, not counting the initial change after cycling and before adding fish.

Added 4 astrea snails on Friday 5/13/2022.

Tank is still going through the ugly stages. As of now, I do not have a way to test phosphates and my nitrate test kit is salifert. My plan is to start to 'blow' the rock off with a kitchen baster daily to help loosen up some of the growth of whatever it is I have. Will also up my filter floss changes to every couple days instead of weeks.

As far as feeding go, I feel I am light on my feedings. I turn the return pump off, then put a very small pinch of pellet food into the tank to allow the clowns to eat. When they are done, there are typically I would say 10-15 pellets left over.

Fish and single coral seem to be happy, it seems the coral is filing out the frag plug more and more.

I am adding microbacter 7 occasionally to help with the beneficial bacteria diversity and quantity. I do have a bottle of biospira I purchased for the initial cycle, but did not use it because the cycle seemed to progress well enough on its own. Maybe I should add some of it as well to help with the 'diversity'?

Close up of ugly stage growth, also for possible suggestions on what it is?

5/16/2022 Testing Update
PH 8.3
Salinity: 34
Nitrate: 5
Calcium: 390
Magnesium: 1290
Alkalinity: 8.3

Also bought a baster with a silicone 'brush' on the end of it. Going to try and clean the rocks off a bit, the snails are busy at work, but I think there is a little to much for the amount of snails I have.

Weekly update:

Been battling either Diatoms/Dino's. But blowing off with a baster and rinsing the floss out seems to be working. Have gone from having to clean up every day to every 3 days now.

Noticed that the zoa's were not opening fully the last couple days, not sure if due to low nitrates or me cleaning up around them has them aggravated.

Also have been adding in Microbacter 7 every other day to daily to hopefully help with the 'uglies'.

Testing (number staying very consistent):
Using IO regular salt
Nitrate: 0.2 (Using Salifert and had to use the look through the side method, and saw 2.0 so dividing by 10 = .2)
Salinity: 35
Calcium: 390
Magnesium: 1290
Alkalinity: 8.3
PH 8.1
Temp: 78.1

Full Tank Shot (Sunrise Lights) rocks and sand bed tended to yesterday):

Need to start adding a few corals and maybe another fish soon!

Did these by chance come from aquarium world, 2 for $40?? If so - I have some of their brothers and sisters in my 75g
No, they came from a local fish store in Grand Rapids, Watercolors Aquarium Gallery. They have an impressive quarantine process that they documented in one of their Podcast.

Not sure where they got them from originally, so they theoretically could be brothers and sisters. ;-)

I upgraded my lights to a gen5 blue because I wanted sps.
I’m not sure the stock biocube lighting can accommodate a nem for a long period of time. Did you add any mods to your lights?

i haven’t posted this yet on my build thread but my nem just split about two weeks ago. I’m lucky that they both decided to stay in the same spot. Not a great pic

Just placed an order from Cherry Corals for:

Rock Flower Anemone
Mandarin Orange, Emerald on fire, jungle juice zoanthids
Aussie Chocolate Chip Torch
Aussie Duncan

First additions to the tank, and besides a free frag of zoanthid a local user gave to me, first corals/anemone to add to the tank.

Suggestions/Tips?

Give the torch plenty of room. They have stinger tentacles.

Got a few corals from Cherry Coral's live sale. Dipped them in Coral RX and Reef Deep then got them down low on the sand bed for a few days to see how they do. Will move the Duncan and Torch up on the rockwork in a little while.

Besides the larger group of zoanthids, which have been in the tank for a while, these are the first coral for me.

*I know the RFA is an anemone and not a coral.

Mint Chocolate Chip Torch - was open in the shipping bag, the dips have it closed up.
