Hey Jack,

I’m currently dosing 2 tbs on mondays and fridays. Considering dropping to 1tbs per day but dosing Mon-Wed-Fri-Sat but I’m going to monitor this for another two weeks and then see about shaking it up. I love the results so far tho.

It’s a real interesting tank. Most people tend to make “typical display” tanks. Your displaying “typical grow out/frag” tanks. Even the new one at 12” deep.... the results are stunning to look at.

I pick up fresh shrimp, scallops, squid chop all that up then add blood worms, Mysis some reef roids and mix that all together. I freeze it in zip lock bags about 1/4" thick. Just break off a piece thaw it in tank water, drain off the water and drop in. All my critters including the copper band and 4 stars love it. My blue throat even bites the cup or me when Im adding to the tank.

I would love to mix my own and may end up doing that as well but the wife and daughters get tired of the fishy smell. May have to change locations in the house to do it! lol

I don’t know if someone has already asked, but do you have fish in your 60g sps grow out tank?

I do. I have a yellow tang, a mimic tang, 6 line wrasse and an Algae Blenny.

The 60 is tied into my display which has a ton of fish in it and I’m still looking to add a few more

All the fish will be moved to the 240 once it’s up and running. Having a lot of fish and heavy bio-load allows me to keep my nutrients where I need them to be

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
