My only regret so far is I will be using my same stand and canopy that I used on my 240.
Would have been nice to use some new wood.

Looking good.

In the future. I would love to get something similar from them. Two sided Starphire with an overflow on one end.

Thanks

One thing I've learned while dealing with them is the attention to the details and their insistence on quality, especially from the glass supplier.
And their willingness to work with me doing changes after plans were made.

I normally plan months in advance, do my own drawings, make changes several times, do what if's many times, before coming up with a final plan.
This time, when the 240 started leaking, I made a appointment with Mike the next day and sat down and inside of a couple hours came up with a design.
Not at all what I like to do.

But with Mikes help I am really excited about this tank.

I changed my mind a few times on my tank and how I wanted the overflow. He is always willing to work with you and for that part alone his willingness to make the customer happy has won my business for sure.

Oh, I agree completely.

I may have sounded negative in a earlier post with them, but that wasn't the intent at all.
More about being excited and eager to get the project going on my part.

Made a positive step in making the transition today.
One of the things that has to happen is I have to remove a existing 240 gallon tank and the people are coming this weekend to get it. ( I hope)
In order to make this a easy one I did this today.

The biggest door opening was the front door at just under 34".
The tank is going to be 34"+.
We could have turned it on its side since it's 25" tall, but it's going to be pretty heavy and this way is just easier.
70" to walk through.

I drove up to Ocean By Design yesterday and took some progress pictures.
Looks like I will be able to pick it up on the 19th.

One thing I got done yesterday was to clean up the inside of my stand.
When I built it, I used a thin (.016 ) white pvc sheeting that I use at work. I put that on the bottom of the stand.
8 years of saltwater spilled on it and it was still as good as new.
I did have to do a little touch up on the silicone that I used to seal the corners and a little rustoleum touch up on the staples I used to hold down the pvc.

Well yesterday was the big moving day.
The tank was ready to be picked up.

I had 4 good friends drive a long ways to come help me move the tank.
This would not have happened without their help

I talked my son-in-law to help too.
He tried to keep away from the camera, lol

The more I look at the tank, the happier I am with it.
There really is a lot of detail that just isn't picked up with the camera.
The glass seams are all clean and straight, nothing out of line.
Edges are beveled and polished.
Oceans By Design did a awesome job.

My plan for the plumbing is taking shape.
I had a idea, but until the tank was sitting here, everything was written in pencil.
