O this algae is 100% my fault from overfeeding corals. Hind sight I prolly didn’t have enough in there to justify feeding. I got a small out break after the first one then after the 3rd feeding i got algae everywhere. Before that I only had the normal few spots on the glass and everything else was taken care of by snails and urchin. I just set up a 40 cube this weekend that everything is going into when it’s cycled. But I enjoyed that little tank.

We've all started here . In time you will be looking for that large tank. Best of luck with your new tank and DO NOT let impulse get the best of you. Go slowly, shop around and buy the best product you can afford, even if you cant afford it.

Ordered my first fish yesterday from Derek's reef in Moncton canada. Busy man but he made the time for me also made a food suggestion and got me the best shipping possible.

Occelarus black and white clown :) small from ORA should be in Sunday I'm so excited, almost pulled the trigger too quick though and ordered a tailspot blenny as well, had to call back and cancel just breath and slow down haha.

I would not wait long to get another fish in there. Clowns can be real creeps if they assume the tank as their territory. With your stocking list in one of the posts above (the first, in case you posted another one...I didnt see it) I'd add another clown as well....

Wouldn't he be less aggressive without a mate or anemone to host and protect ? I'm really unsure but that's why I had chose to just go with 1 clown. I'm hoping I planned it out well anyways lol

So, looking for feedback here... my tank is roughly 6 weeks old. recently just got my first fish 1 clown and 2 nass snails... in the far future i would love to get a green mandarin... should i purchase pods now so they can really multiply in the tank and help clean ?

its never to early to introduce pods once the tank is cycled.

If you really want to get a good pod population going, you can also consider dosing/feeding phytoplankton.

Tank is likely too small for a Mandarin without constant addition of pods or a large external refugium added.

thanks, i wasnt aware the pods needed a large space to breed, i thought the back sump from the aio would have been good enough :(

Quick update, I purchased a small ATO because i was really tired of topping the tank off every 3rd day. Small tanks to evaporate extremely quick and that salt level rises fast guys :O

I went really cheap and purchased a Coral Box Smart ATO Auto Water Filler N50 the pump is extremely quiet and affordable it works ! but... ive been having many issues with the float sticking, the magnet is incredibly ****tty so i had to glue it on. Also my biggest issue is with the bracket it really sits high...more then im comfortable with when it starts to top off... so ive decided maybe to fix many of these issues ill cut the bracket up and place it deeper inside my sump. Maybe more water will reduce sticking, stop the scary high refills and put my worries at ease with that really ****** magnet. Sorry for punctuation and ****** grammar i just type as it comes to mind.
