I’ll be starting up an IM 20 this coming week after my BioCube 16 cracked after a (small) earthquake.
Equipment will consist of the tank, one, possibly 2 Nero 3 that I already have laying about, a 100 watt heater, probably upgraded in the future, and 2 NooPsyche mini k7 lights

Congratulations on the new adventure!

Thanks! I’ve had 2 other IM tanks (30l, SR60) but since I’m moving this year decided I need to go small again. So I’ve sold the 90 I’ve had and so with the cube breaking, here we are.

Tank arrived today. Here it’s on the stand still wrapped in plastic. Cover will be here next couple of days and I bought the media caddy from IM since it was a starter kit and and I have little use for socks . Tank is going where the big one is being taken from

Crazy day day today. Took down the 90, which took 5+ hours and 3 trips by the buyer. Then I was simultaneously putting aside the rocks, some water , sand and the clowns and hectors, as well as the coral. And without further ado, here’s the 20 up and running. Will be adding a second Noop k7 mini on Thursday thanks to @JoJosReef who had an extra unused one. IMG_4156.jpeg IMG_4157.jpeg IMG_4158.jpeg IMG_4159.jpeg IMG_4160.jpeg IMG_4161.jpeg

Good job. That's a ton of work!!!
Thanks! I just went from a 90 gallon down to this, mainly due to potentially moving soon and such a large tank would likely not be allowed wherever I went. And yesterday when I swapped tanks was a very long day.

One of my most favorite tanks was an IM 20 sps under ATI T5 lighting. I envy you. :)
My previous tanks were in succession- very short lived BioCube 16-IM Nuvo 301-IM SR 60-Clear For Life 90 acrylic(all AIO). If I ever go larger again I’d probably go IM AIO again as I really like their tanks lol

Did a little fiddling with the ‘scape yesterday evening. Put a few smaller loose rock in the back and moved the little torch over. Not much but there’s a little more real estate in front. First pic in room lighting. Will add another with the Noops on later.

Here’s the lit tank with the albeit, modest changes. In a small tank like this real estate is at a premium so it feels to me less cramped

Happy sps . Maybe try a few easier/hardier Acros one more time. Definitely want a Goni or three.

It came out really really nice. I am so envious of the Orange Digitata, it's in the top 5 of my sps favorite list.

Yeah totally underrated . For whatever reason Digi and Stylos always grow well for me. But even simple Acros …well what can I say.

Well time to hit the tank with chemiclean. Tank definitely looks like it’s got cyano. Probably do what I can for manual cleaning tomorrow and the then dose it.

Have you already tried a few trochus and cerith snails? Or maybe a 3 or 4 day blackout after removing what you can manually

Looks better after working on it this morning. I have Astrea snails but I’m planning on getting one or two turbo snails, a few ceriths, and a small amount of other cuc. Need to pick up a couple peppermints as well as I’ve got a few aiptasia. I’d love to get either a conch or better yet a sea cucumber(the kind that sifts/eats sand detritus)
