Hello!
I just got what I believe to be a maxima clam from my LFS, and it seems to be doing very well so far! It was gaping for about 2 days, and my RFA decided to scoot a bit to sting it the first night, but it appears that it's doing far better now. It is no longer gaping, it has some nice extension, and even has put down some byssal threads (after 3 days- I thought it would take about a week). It also still reacts very nicely to me waving my hand over the tank. I have been turning off my pump (but keeping my wavemakers on) and dosing phytofeast every day. Is there anything else I should be doing to monitor the clam or to make sure it's not starving? I had one probably 2 years ago and I think it starved to death- not trying to have that happen again!
