Well, it's finally time I start my very own tank!! We ordered an Aquapod 24 with Sunpod 150MH lighting from Barbie at Aquarium Solutions. It's taken awhile for it to arrive, but the tank is finally here and in the process of getting set up. Still waiting on the light fixture, but hoping it'll be here soon. Michael's (returnofsid) doing a few Mods to the tank before we fill it with water, so here goes. We've had live rock in a tote for a month or more, cycling, and it's really wanting to be in it's new home.

My tank will be mainly SPS and Zoanthids. So far, the :idea:mods:idea: include replacing the stock pump with a MJ900 or MJ1200, we're not totally decided on which yet:?:. Another MJ900 will also be used, with a Hydor Flo unit. Michael's drilled a hole in the plastic that separates the display from the back. The MJ900 will be in the back and connected to the Hydor. This will keep the display nice and clean, with no pumps visible. Depending on how the flow works out, with this set up, we may add a 3rd MJ900. It would also be in the back portion and 1/2" black hose would be routed to the front left of the display and locline with a Y would be used.

We're still "up in the air" on which skimmer to use, if any. For now, we'll go skimmerless and do larger water changes, more often, to make up for the lack of skimmer. The "slots" in the back might also be modified to make a true surface skimmer. That hasn't been finalized yet either.

So, here's some pics.
Here's Madison showing off the stand. Wow her shirt's dirty. Remind me not to let her eat Cheetos before pictures.

Be careful and make sure you go slow setting it up. You wanna make sure the tank cycles before hitting it with all kinds of new stuff. Going good though!

Hi all!! I'm the other half. Cloakerpoked, I don't think we'll experience any cycle, other than some diatoms. The live rock has been in a tote for several months, with circulating SW, water changes and even light the last few weeks. It's been "cycled" for awhile now. The sand is new and was dry, so that'll probably experience a nice diatom outbreak. I'll also be seeding it with sand from one of our established reef tanks.

Letsgotothezoo, how about we just loan her to you!!??

Well, tonight we moved some rock around and took some out. We also added a split lock line to one of the MJ900's, but we may change that pump to a MJ1200, just not sure yet. Here is a new pic of the tank and yes that is a Zoanthid rock on the bottom left hand of the sand. We'll be adding more stuff in the next few days I'm sure. Enjoy!!

Time for that update I promised. First the equipment update. When Angie decided to start this project, I'd made mention, on a thread or two, that I might be looking for a small CPR Aquafuge. Awhile ago, I got a PM from a fellow local hobbyist and store owner, Vince, aka vinny2261. Vince owns Advanced Aquarium and Terrarium, here in Spokane. He had a few used CPR Aquafuges and wanted to let me know. Well, to make a long story short, which I don't do often....lol.... the other night, Vince showed up while we were playing pool league and delivered a small CPR Aquafuge to us. The Aquafuge is used, but in great shape!! To make matters even better, there was a brand new Aquafuge light, light legs and MJ400 included!! Vince, I promise to make up for this with some sweet frags in the future!!! Yep, you heard me right folks, no money was wanted, just some frags in the future!! WOW were we surprised. Angie's very thrilled with the new equipment addition and will even be more thrilled, when she gets home from work today to find it installed and running!! Vince, we both thank you very much!!!

What would an update be, without pictures of my lil' helper?

I think she was most excited to find that I'd fragged our RPEs for the first time, to put some in her tank.

Here's out first fish pics!! Picked this beautiful Percula clownfish up at Aquarium Solutions!! The orange is sooo vivid!! Of course, Madison immediately named it "Cootie." No idea where she came up with that, but she specifically said that she didn't want to name it "Nemo." Good Girl!!

Well, we added the fish that this tank was set up for, last night and Madison named this fish as well. Sooo, now we have a Percula Clownfish named "Cootie" and a Tailspot Blenny named "Tutu."

This morning, we see "Tutu," but so far, it is hiding, so no pics yet. Sorry!!
Here are some pics I shot this morning though.

Cootie (so far, we've been unable to teach Cootie to pose. Still working on it though.)

We have 2 Frogspawn colonies in her tank. This one's tentacles stay short, while the other colony seems much longer.

"Tutu" is still in hiding, picking food from the back wall. I was able to catch a few pics, but this is about the only one that is any good. Once Tutu ventures out, into some brighter light, I'll get some better ones.
