As the title states - How do I reintroduced beneficial bacteria to my sponge filter?

Here’s where my filter sits today. In my “little closet cabinet” for SW needs etc.

Received new I just drenched it in fresh water and rung it out. Plopped it into my HOB Filter for a few weeks.

If you know, I recovered a Pygmy Angelfish from ich. Meaning my sponge filter went through some ich filtration as well as copper.

The filter was rinsed multiple times in fresh water rung out and rinsed repeatedly. Now it’s dry, I squeeze and nothing. ———-> Is my filter safe again?

I’m ready to set up my QT and go for one last fish in the aquarium to call it complete. My DT is stable and all are thriving together, just need the last piece to call it complete. Thank you R2R!

If you have any rubble rock that u can use to introduce bacteria to your qt I would go that route. I wouldn’t risk putting the sponge into ur display to seed it. Or a cup of sand
