Just imagine the money saved could all go to purchasing some new Zoas or Palys and most of all do it for the love of your Family!!
My father-in-law quit smoking a long time ago stricly because of his 5 kids...and no cold turkey or any treatment at all...
Keep up the good intentions ..... folks!!

Day 10 :) :brave:

For me, in the past, I never actually committed to this level, always had smokes around for the bad times...or what I thought were bad times. This time I made sure to rid the house of all smokes and that has definitely made it easier having nothing to cheat with.

I also am still avoiding all alcohol, convenient stores, and generally stressful life areas to keep total focus on task at hand.

Congrats to all that have quit, karma to all those that are currently quitting, and thanks to all those that have jumped on for the support we all need!

Peace, Bryan

The money thing is a myth, when I quit for about the first 6 months I had what seemed to be extra money. I ended up just spending it on my tank and zoas, which lead to another addiction that I already had but I had more money to spend on it. Yes I quit a unhealthy addiction and started a new one which to me has far better benefits. Now I can look at my display and see where my money went and I can breath while I look at it. The extra money only last so long before you find something else to spend it on. You will be better for it though. Good job Bryan.....To all that jumped on the quiting wagon keep it up!

thanks Steve. Still going strong!!!

I, luckily have a new addiction/addition to spend any extra money on.......
A new baby girl, and I don't want to pass that habit on to her!!!

Congrats and good luck to all who are trying to rid themsevles of the unwanted things in there life. I can't offer more than support for those who are trying to quite smoking, because I have never been in the situation. Just remember to keep focus on the longer term, because the short term stuff is what makes quiting anything difficult. Good luck to all, and as the good rev. said you can always lean on God to help you get through difficult times. He will never leave you nor forsake you, and he will never allow something in your life to tempt you that you can not handle with his support.

thanks all. Luckily she looks like her mother so she has a leg up, and I am teahing her the joys of taking anap on the couch watching the History Channel!!:)

yummmmmm, History channel naps :) I just woke up but that sounds great!

Awesome motivation to quit the sticks for sure, congrats and keep it up!!

DAY 13 here, this thread has definitely helped get me through some rough moments, thanks all!

I am very glad and proud to say I am in day 43......

I am planning on this just being the start!

Congrats on that....It has been almost 4 years for me, I no longer get the urge to smoke. IN fact it actully bothers me now to smell it, but I'm not gonna be one of those former smokers that complain about other people smoking and make a big deal smoking around me.....May it continue.

Just came across this thread and wanted to add some continued support to you all. Although I have never been addicted to cigarettes, I fought the battle of the bulge :) a couple years ago and although food it's not quite as addictive, it's just as hard to do.

Best of luck and keep us updated on the progress and like everyone else has said, pop in and let us know if you need support.

Adam
