Hey guys figured I’d make a little build thread on my new tank I have in the works. I took a break from the reef community for a couple years and unfortunately had to part out my last tank which was a 93gal cube. I’m ready to get back into it and more than excited ! For the new tank I decided to go small and do a nano build so I went with a Innovative Marine nuvo 20 gallon peninsula. The tank will be arriving early this coming week and we will get right into it and get it cycling and of course I already have my qt tank back up and running and have these clowns just waiting for their new home to be built ! (Pics below) Here’s some plans for the tank :
- IM 20 nuvo fusion peninsula
- Thinking just running an AI prime hd 16 ?
- I’m going to run everything that comes with tank and keep it simple as far as filteration no skimmer or anything of that matter right away atleast...
- Tunze ato
- Vivid aquatics random flow generator
- Brs titanium 100w heater

Open to hear everyone’s thoughts, suggestions, or any other ideas for the tank. Always ready to learn more tips and tricks in the reefing community ! Thanks guys

Welcome back!

One suggestion:
For good led coverage, I'd go two Primes or two Kessil a80s to cover the length of your peninsula.

Tank is officially cycling ! Shipping got delayed on the tank so it took longer to get than expected but is what it is. Threw together a stand quick with some extra material from jobs and pretty happy with the turnout. For lighting I picked up a hydra 32hd so I’m hoping it will work out otherwise I’ll switch lighting setups. May or may not also change up the rock work we will see what I think of it after a few days. Now just to wait till the tank cycles and add fish !

Tank has been doing really well fish are enjoying it and I’ve added one small gsp rock just because I needed to add some color.... Just getting over the algae bloom and the new tank ugliness and also been trying to get the water more clear. Seems to have a white haze to it and you can see it. I currently am running carbon but nothing else so any other suggestions would be awesome.

Same issue for me. Tank perimeters are all within ranges. Water change once a month, everything is healthy across the tank yet a white haze throughout. Sometimes will clear for a day or two but usually it’s a haze. Tanks been up nearly 4 months now. Any thoughts ?
