Oh, I won't be scraping anything. All work will be there turbos. The picture will be of my super sophisticated filtration system.

You told me you were going show your filtration system and why a scraper wouldn’t work. I used dumb keywords to get the point across for myself 😅, but in my head I’m wondering why your filtration system inhibits you from scraping the algae. I’m very intrigued.

And you'll see soon.

The return on the left is from a 207 full of rubble. So my options are getting everything caught in the skimmer or it dies tangled into the cryptic fuge.
Hmm. That’s an interesting set up. No wonder you have the snails working overtime.

Yellow tang update from @Dr. Reef

I did not think this fish would make it; he was so tiny. Fortunately, he likes the nori clip and the algae on the rocks. He eats a lot, and the results show for itself:

I miss the Achilles tang. ☹️

I can’t believe it just…stopped living? It was one of the weirdest things I’ve ever experienced. I do want to try another, and I’m glad Mike is going to help me out. That was a beautiful fish.

I did a headcount, and I still have every single anthias. Who would’ve thought counting 15 lyretail anthias would be so hard?

I don’t know if my mind is playing tricks, but it almost seems like the coralline considerably slowed down after increasing/keeping elevated PO₄.

I tried making it a goal to keep phosphate around 0.2 - 0.3 ppm, and I was okay with it being at 0.50 ppm.

That's a fun experiment. Scrape some coralline off an area and see how long it takes to fill back in at the different P04 ranges.

How many weeks has it been? Told ya they color up and grow fast!

😑 every time I see your tank I get ready to add chromis to the cart with Dr. Reef. The Anthias and chromis combo is 🔥👍 but I’ve never had good luck with chromis. Pick each other off slowly. Maybe this new tank with 7-8 daily feedings help? Hmmmm kids keep wanting a “blue fish”.

Uch. I wish I did this earlier. I brought my PO₄ back down to 0.15 ppm a couple of days ago. I added new dry rocks about a month ago, and I don’t think it’s ever taken this long for it to fully fill out with coralline. I’ve added dry rocks before, and it was a whole different ballgame.

My tank has progressed to the point where I don’t need to scrape the coralline for it to look good. It’s bliss. I used to meticulously scrape it very frequently or else it would look ugly. My tank is still a work in progress, and my corals have not grown out to where I’d like them yet.

Good question. Just checked, and it’s only been about 3.5 weeks. Wow.

I really like chromis and anthias. They make the tank look like a reef. I never had an issue with them picking each other off, but I did lose several last year because I didn’t feed as frequently. Now I have an auto feeder, and it’s the best!

So you found feeding frequency helps with aggression amongst them? If so I’m ordering 4-5. Tank be over stocked but it be alright 🤣

My tank has very high flow with a lot of space and a big tang. I see the male anthias swooping occasionally on the females, but it just keeps the pecking order. I heard big fish keep the school intact for their perceived protection.

My yellow tang interrupts the Anthias if they start going crazy. Tank boss 💪

I think high phosphate lowers calcium absorption so it does make sense, tank is still beautiful tho lol I'm also battling high PO4🥲

I hope this is not true as I am reducing my PO4 right now and I already can’t keep up with its growth…
Peninsulas are a… PITA
