Hello everyone and welcome
I'm not good at typing things down but I will give it a try with my build thread. A little back round, I'm an irrigation manager on a farm so i'm up at the butt crack of dawn and in bed at dusk if i'm lucky. I've been out of the hobby for a couple of years. My better half at the time really didn't like the tank and she was worried my son would get into the sump. I had a 55 gallon with a 20 long sump setup and my son knew how to pull the side panels off of my home made stand to play in the sump. So the tank left and all of my equipment. Fast forward 5 years to present day, my son is old enough now not to play in the sump and the better half is someone else issue. So my saltwater bug bit me again and talking with my son and daughter they liked the idea of having a tank and some chores for them after it has been setup. So last Friday 8/21 i bit the bullet and bought a Waterbox reef 130.4 figured a 93 gallon tank would be big enough for me to get my feet wet again and let me enjoy the system again. Well to my surprise the tank was shipped out Monday 8/24 and at my doorstep on the 8/31.
My placement of my tank is going to be in between my dinning room and living room. (my fake fish will have to find a different wall to keep me company. My mother way of replacing my tank I had to get rid of)
Sub-flooring:
I had to post some picture of the flooring, I know i was worried about it, some other reefer assured me that I would be fine but i still wanted to make sure.
Mixing Station:
Since leave the hobby i was glad i didn't have to lug my brute trash can on wheels through my living room anymore to do water changes. I've been doing a lot of reading on everyone's mixing station and wish i would of thought of it back then i might of been able to keep my tank. But for my system right now I was able to find these two 55g tanks at a local feed store cheaper than what i wanted to get with shipping cost. My plan is to stack them with a foot in between them so i can get to the lid on the bottom one to add salt. I'm thinking of just hard piping from top tank down with a ball valve to control my fill rate. In the s/w tank just have a small pump to move the water around and enough to push it no more than 50' of line into my tank if needed. I'm working on trying to figure out how I can get some lines from my garage to the tank wall. Once I get that figured out hopefully tomorrow I can find my drain from my garage to main line leaving the house. From the station tho i'm going to setup a AWC system with just a basic dosing pump and run it on a timer like 4 times a day for 2 hours or so. I was thinking of changing about 1.5 a day would put me about 10 gallons a week for just a little less than 10% wc a week.
My Equipment:
BRS Spec 4 Stage 150 gpd
eFlux Loop DC Flow Return Pump 1900 GPH
40 lbs of Dry Rock
eFlux Loop Wave Pump 1050 gph kit
eFlux Loop Wave Pump 1050 pump only
Arag-Alive Caribsea Sand 60 lbs
2 ReefLed 90w LED lights
Red Sea Reefer Skimmer 300
Everything should be here by tomorrow but the sand and the tank of course.
That is about all I have for this late night ramble and thank you all for stopping by and I'll try to get some more pictures of the equipment tomorrow when it comes in and if I can a video of them dropping the tank off.
