I'm putting together a nano bowl as a coral quarantine for my 720 gallon tank. I think it's about 8 gallons. It will be in a separate building and should look nice in it's own right. There will be corals and inverts but no fish. I want to keep my 720 parasite free. Batches of coral will spend 3 months at least in the nano before moving into the 720.

I was thinking a Kessil 160we for lighting, 5 gallon water change every 2 weeks? A small circulation pump, heater and air stone. Some live-rock I'll steal from my sump, maybe some sand. I'll top off as needed.

Anything I'm missing?

5 gallon change on 8 gallons seems like a lot.
I'm not using a skimmer/sump on this system. Just the liverock.

The live rock came from the ocean ~15 years ago and has been one system or another continuously since. I'll start it with 8 gallons of water from my main system.

There will not be a cycle.

And here it is.

Can I get away with a near 100% water change every 2 weeks, or do I need to do it weekly? (Skimmerless)

Depending on the corals might need to do water changes every few days depending on how fast they go through alk. AAnd or probably better figure out a small dosing regiment using 3 part of some sort
